The Dairy
The Dairy is a detached stone cottage across the courtyard from the main house and Grainstore. It backs onto the orchard, off which is a garden for the tenants’ use, with a sunny lawn surrounded by flowers, and views of Brandon Hill and the Blackstairs.
It is a larger building than the Grainstore, but equally sensitively restored. The front door leads into the kitchen, originally the farm’s dairy. Next to the kitchen is a large double height living room with a solid fuel stove and big windows in place of the original barn doors. A French window leads to a small terrace which catches the afternoon and evening light, and a window at the rear looks out onto the garden. Upstairs, in the old harness room, is a sunny attic bedroom with a double bed. There is a shower room (wet-room) downstairs behind the kitchen. The Dairy is fully-furnished and equipped, with washing-machine, TV/DVD, broadband access and a fold-away bed for visitors.
The Dairy is normally used for longer-term lettings and rent (negotiable) is exclusive of electricity and central heating oil. However, it is sometimes available for holiday lets.
"The Dairy felt like home as soon as I moved into it! It’s full of character and charm, and was a delightful place to live, so warm and cosy in the winter and cool and airy in the summer. The beautiful garden is an added bonus – and maintenance free!"
